Feathers, Feeders and Fun at Lake View

This week at Lake View, we’ve been busy getting ready for the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch (23rd–25th January), with a whole flock of bird-themed activities. 🐦

Residents enjoyed colouring beautiful bird pictures, tackling word searches and crosswords, joining in with wildlife quizzes, and sharing plenty of birdy conversations along the way. We’ve also spent time birdwatching and preparing our garden feeders, filling them with lard balls, peanuts and mixed seeds to help tempt our feathered visitors a little closer.

As well as being great fun, these activities supported hand-eye coordination, concentration and fine motor skills, and gave everyone a real sense of achievement.

One highlight was Pat, who fancied something a bit more hands-on. He put his strength and problem-solving skills to good use by helping build our new bird feeder mount and was understandably very proud of the finished result. 💪🛠️

Now we’re ready for the weekend and will be keeping an eye out from the windows, and venturing into the garden weather permitting, to tally up our bird-spotting totals. Let the counting begin!
